The Milwaukee Bucks are your new favorites to win the NBA championship after a surprise trade for superstar point guard Damian Lillard.
Before learning of the transaction, Milwaukee had the third-best title odds at +600.
surpassed the Nuggets (+480) and Celtics (+470) to take the top spot on FanDuel Sportsbook's oddsboard at +360.
The Bucks' chances to win the Eastern Conference were also cut in half, going from +290 second-favorites to +145 favorites to go to the NBA Finals.
After Lillard, a seven-time All-Star, asked for a trade in early July, there had been a standoff between him and the Portland Trail Blazers for several months.
Lillard had stated for months that the Heat was his preferred destination, even implying that he’d only report to training camp for Miami or Portland.
It's unclear if Lillard changed his mind, but as Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report noted, he and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks had previously toyed with the idea of working together.
The Phoenix Suns were also a part of the three-team trade, and they will be getting Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson.
The Blazers are receiving Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, a 2029 unprotected first-round pick from the Bucks and the right to swap picks in 2028 and 2030.
