Biden fumbles acronym during Pacific Islands forum speech: ‘Doesn’t matter what we call it,’ he jokes

In his most recent verbal gaffe, President Biden mispronounced a straightforward acronym while addressing leaders from the Pacific Islands on Monday.

At a White House discussion, Biden, 80, struggled when asked to recite the acronym for his administration's Pacific Islands Infrastructure Initiative.

He told the leaders gathered around the round table, "Today I'm thrilled to say we're working with Congress to invest $40 billion in our Pacific Islands Infrastructure Initiative. 

It doesn't matter what we call it; it is what it is. We call it the P, PI.

He continued, "I was gonna get back to acronyms and I'm gonna withstand not doing that," drawing laughter from several on the 18-person forum.
