When he joined the team again, Kareem Hunt paid respect to Nick Chubb.
When Hunt arrived at Cleveland Browns Stadium for the team's Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans at 1 p.m. ET, Chubb was sporting a jersey.
On a tackle from defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, Chubb sustained a season-ending injury.
The four-time Pro Bowler just avoided the worst-case situation in the 26-22 defeat by avoiding what was expected to be a season-ending torn ACL.
He apparently merely sustained a torn MCL and escaped with his career.
Chubb was an All-Pro Second Team running back after rushing for 1,525 yards last season, and he also tied a career-high 12 touchdowns on the ground.
Due to his injury, his streak of four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances will come to an end, and Chubb's absence makes the Browns' path to the postseason much more difficult.
Deshaun Watson, the team's weak quarterback, hasn't helped matters either; he failed to step up on Monday after Chubb left.
During his time in college, Chubb also sustained a significant knee injury that halted his sophomore campaign early after a season in which he won the SEC Freshman of the Year award.
