Good samaritan returns man’s lost wallet using ingenious tactic on online banking

Tim Cameron lost his wallet on his way home from work. Inside, there was no direct way to contact him.

A passerby named Simon found the wallet. Instead of giving up, he had a clever idea using online banking.

Simon made four 1p transactions to Tim's bank account. But why?

With each 1p transaction, Simon used the reference number space to write a message to Tim.

"Hi, I found your wallet in the road. Text or call!" Simon also included his phone number.

Tim shared this heartwarming story on Twitter. It quickly went viral with over 120,000 likes and 20,000 retweets.

Many praised Simon's creativity and kindness. "Great to know there are still fabulous people out there who actually care," remarked a user.

Tim hadn't yet returned the 4p Simon transferred. Instead, he bought Simon a bottle of red wine as a thank you.

Many shared their own tales of lost items returned by kind strangers, reminding us of the goodness in the world.
